YGE (YG Entertainment) is an entertainment company founded by Yang Hyun-Suk (otherwise known to the fans as PAPA YG). “YG” is an abbreviation for “Yang Goon”, the nickname of the CEO. The company is based in Seoul, South Korea. Not only is it a record label, it is also a talent agency, clothing line, cosmetics firm, event management, music production, concert production and it is also its own music publishing house.
YG is the house of the amazing artists of JinuSean, 1TYM, Masta Wu, BigBang, 2ne1, PSY, EpikHigh, Lee Hi, Akdong Musician (AKMU), Winner and iKon. YG is also known for their amazing backup dancers of Hi-Tech and Crazy. YG is also the record label that Se7en & Gummy were with.
I’m a music lover but when it comes to KPOP (Korean Pop), I am very bias (I know, it’s bad and I’m sorry….). I am an YG Stan which means I favor and listen to YG Artists. It’s not that I don’t know the other groups (okay, I lied, I really don’t know the other KPOP groups) but I like listening to YG more…does that make sense? I don’t have a favorite artist in YG because I like them all. Each artist is unique and different regardless if they are in a group or solo. Even if the artist is no longer in YG (such as Se7en or Gummy), I still support them and listen to them regardless because they were and still are YG to me. Alright, now enough of my talking…so you want to go see YGE right?
Address: 397-5, Hapjeong-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul, South Korea
My direction will be pretty much the same as the others since they all pretty much lead up to the same place…
- Wherever you are, you would want to go to the Hapjeong Station (합정역) and walk out of Exit 8
- To your right side, there should be a SK gas station. You will need to walk towards this SK gas station as you will need to pass it alongside some hotel and buildings.
- Keep walking and you will see another SK gas station on your right. You will cross a small street but still keep going straight (might be slight right curve).
- You will cross a street but keep walking straight. You should start looking towards your right side as you should be able to see the YG Entertainment Building. If you don’t see the YG building, you should see a GS25 that is right opposite to the YG Building.
- Follow the road and you should be there
No, we didn’t get to see any of the artist but I did go back there to meet someone very dear to me a few days later. I will write a blog about that soon. But yes, YGE is truly a sight to see. The building structure is amazing and everyone around there from the workers at the GS25 to fellow fans outside were all very nice. Will definitely make another stop there when I go back.
Are you an YG Fan? Have you gone to the YG Building? What are your thoughts and feelings about your experience? Definitely drop a comment, note or message and let me know. I love connecting with fellow KPOPPERs…Once again, feel free to drop a message and remember to click LIKE on FACEBOOK and FOLLOW on TWITTER…you guys are all amazing!!
